How I Define a Bullish Engulfing Candle (Most Get It Wrong)

There is no dictionary in technical analysis, so here is mine: a bullish engulfing must trade below the prior candle’s low AND close above its high. Any looser version prints constantly and fails constantly. The strict one means something.
